in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.
In other words, if you do not know the word, how can you know God?
Do you read your bible daily? Do you understand what you read? or are you basing your understanding by what the man behind the pulpit tells you what the word says and mean?
What about your doctrines of faith? There are different doctrines of faith…that is why there are so many different denominations. Again what you believe in, how it is based? Do you base it on what the man behind the pulpit says or did you do your own in-depth research that gave you a God inspired understanding?
Years ago I fell in a trap with a church. I was told things that made sense based on the verses I was shown and the teachings I was taught. I really believed and felt secured in my faith, my understanding and my God. But I was wrong about a lot of things. The reality is I was lead astray by good people who had good intentions.
So what about you?

My parents were not church goers but they sent us kid to church every Sunday. It was not until I was older did I learn they were sending us to church so they could have some peace and quiet for a couple of hours. There were six of us kids so you can guess that they needed the time
One thing they did teach us was to pray before and after our meals. Before our meals we always prayed
“Come Lord Jesus, be our guest, let this food to us be blessed. Amen”
and after the meals we were taught to pray
“Oh give thanks unto the lord for he is good and his mercy endures forever. Amen”
They were simple prayers but they invite fond memories of my youth. Oh to go back when the prayers of a child was so simple and so meaningful

Matthew 18:1-5 (King James Version)
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

I found the following flash a few years ago and thought it was funny and true. With New Year’s coming up it I thought it would make for a great warning on the dangers of drinking. Enjoy
